Major Maintenance work at NCR EPE

NCR EPE is a 135 km expressway between Kundli and Palwal, built by NHAI under the EPC Mode of contract. This project was built by 5 different EPC Contractors in 6 various sections and opened to traffic in the year 2017.  These different sections were under maintenance and DLP obligations of EPC Contractors from 2017 until 2022.

NHAI has decided to ward this project under Toll-Operate-Transfer Model as TOT Bundle 7. As per the Bid Documents NHAI Assured the prospective bidders that rectifications will be carried out the EPC Contractors as per their DLP and O&M obligations or taken by NHAI at the Risk and Cost of EPC contractors.

Indian Highways Concession Trust (IHCT) emerged as a successful bidder, NHAI Granted these rectifications as COS work to SPV to the tune of 92 Cr. These works involve, Repairs to the Approaches to structures, PQC panel replacement, Repair to the road Furniture, Repairs to structures and repairs to electrical infrastructures etc. Spread over 135 km length.

SPV has carried out the repair works while the full traffic running continuously. The safety of road users was given utmost priority by creating work zones. These work zones were protected by Truck Mounted Attenuators and Shadow vehicles and under the continuous vigilance of Route Patrol Vehicles.

Innovative techniques like carbide milling, Micro surfacing, Bituminous Cold mixes etc were utilized in rectification of Pavements.
